What Triton is

Triton is a privately held boutique brokerage that does one thing: it buys and sells Chicago’s apartment and mixed-use buildings, for owners who want the truth about what they have.

It started with two flip phones.

Two college students, Matthew Fritzshall and Harrison Cohen, leasing student apartments at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.

More than 200 apartments. One year. Their tenacity was the entire leasing team.

A blueprint for a new firm

Matt starts the brokerage division of a local Chicago company. It grows past 700 units. Ed rejoins him, and the culture they build becomes the plan for something of their own.

Matt and Ed found Triton. Harrison leaves litigation at two downtown law firms to build its brokerage. Summer interns join every year, a nod to that leasing office in Normal.
